Wax On, Wax Off!

On Monday, Tyson had a private lesson arranged for him at SuperKicks Karate. He was very, very, very excited to attend as he has been saying, "I am going to be a Ninja when I grow up!" I've tried to explain to him that that's not really a career choice, but there is NO convincing him. He sure does think so. I believe this desire transpired after we were flipping through the television channels one morning and he fell in love with the movie "The 3 Ninjas". It is the worst movie EVER but he loves it. We had to DVR it for him. The other day, while he was watching it for the 50th time, he was copying the 3 boys' karate moves. He didn't know I was watching, but I was, and it was really cute, not to mention funny.

I really enjoyed the private lesson with Tyson. It's exciting to know that the Karate instructor/owner is a Christian and before each lesson the class prays together. What a way to start anything you do in life.

Enjoy a few snap shots and video clips of Ty testing out his "Ninja" moves.

Tyson will be attending a special event this Friday at Superkicks with his buddies James and Nicolas. I guess we will decide after tomorrow night if karate is for Tyson, if the cost is fair, and if WE, as parents, are willing to start committing to bringing him back and forth to karate class before we sign him up for good.

In the 1st video clip, Ty is learning how to follow directions by running to the correct color "x" on the mat and then bowing to his instructor and saying "yes sir".

Video clip 2nd, is Tyson was previously timed to see how many kicks he could do in a specific amount of time. Mr. Bryant was trying to teach him how to surpass his goals and had him do the test again to see how well he can beat his amount of kicks from the previous time.

In the 3rd & 4th video clip, Tyson attempts to break a board. At his second attempt, he was successful at breaking a practice board. Man, he was on CLOUD 9. After all, what good is a Ninja who can't break a board.
